About David W. Sprague, Ph.D.

Dr. David Sprague is an Ivy League graduate of the Arts & Science School of Cornell University where he conducted Honors thesis research on the biopsychological syndrome recognized today as Attention Deficit Disorder. He holds a doctorate degree in Professional Psychology from Pennsylvania State University, a program fully accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA). He completed a yearlong APA approved pre-doctoral internship at the Syracuse VA Medical Center and had more than two years of post-doctoral supervision towards attaining the license to independently practice as a psychologist in New York State. He became a fully licensed New York State psychologist in 1990. He worked for 2 1/2 years at the Genesee County Mental Health Clinic and became well aware of the unique needs of this area.
Serving Patients

In 1991, Dr. Sprague started his own practice in Batavia. Dr. Sprague has seen individuals, couples, and families dealing with a wide variety of issues. He spends most of his time counseling, but he has also conducted several types of psychological evaluations at the request of individuals and various agencies. During this time Dr. Sprague has conducted evaluations for New York State police and corrections officers, for the New York State Office of Vocation Rehabilitation, for the Social Security administration, and for court-ordered and school-requested evaluations.

Dr. Sprague has experience in counseling patients with depression, anxiety, panic disorders, psychosomatic disorders, eating disorders, anger management issues, parent/child conflicts, marital issues, bereavement, personality/interpersonal conflicts, poor impulse control, and more.
